NanoChar is a high performance, VOC-free epoxy intumescent coating to protect steel, wood, and other substrates from high intensity hydrocarbon pool and jet fires, and depending on the substrate NanoChar also provides corrosion protection to the substrate.
We distribute NanoChar from IAG Company. It is their latest product designed for fire protection and also the first epoxy intumescent fire proofing material formulated to incorporate nanotechnology as well.
By incorporating nano particles into the formulation, the key benefits are: enhanced fire performance, improved material application characteristics, cohesive and adhesive properties, impact resistance and overall durability.

LPG Storage Tank

NanoChar is certified by the United States Department of Transportation (DOT) / Federal Rail Administration (FRA) to provide the fire protection requirements for LPG Rail Cars when applied at 3.25 mm DFT.

  • Solves the issues of vibration and settling of the fiber insulation.
  • Provides the fire protection requirements at 3. 25mm, replacing 2 inches of fiber insulation and the steel cladding.
  • Reduction on the overall outside diameter of the tank for potential grater payload.
  • Applied at 3.25 mm is only adding less than 1 pound per square foot of weight to the rail car, reducing the weight of a typical car by 9% by eliminating the requirement of steel cladding to protect the fiber insulation.
  • Maintenance free and provides corrosion protection as well are fire protection.
